Selling your diamonds can be a fairly easy process but there is a lot to know before you make the decision to sell. Diamonds are graded on a very large scale that we would determine upon your arrival. Diamonds are graded based on their size, clarity, cut, and color.

Unfortunately, we cannot give you an accurate quote over the phone for your diamonds. However, if you have a certificate for your diamonds, this is very helpful. The BEST certificate to have while selling your diamonds is GIA (Gemological Institute of America). This certificate shows how your stone has been graded by specialists at GIA. Having this certificate may help you get a little more money for your diamond. Diamonds can range anywhere from $40 a carat to $10,000 a carat or more!

To the untrained eye, spotting a diamond can be very difficult. There are a few things you can do at home, with the proper tools, to help you identify if your stone is a diamond.

Use a magnifying glass or a loupe and look into the stone. If you see imperfections such as pique or inclusions, you may indeed have a diamond! If your diamond is set in a piece of jewelry, determine the type of metal. Diamonds are almost always placed in some kind of precious metal like gold or platinum. If the metal is costume, such as gold filled or gold plated, the stones will not be diamonds.
